Advent of Advent & Festive Market 1 Dec
Dear Fabulous Folk,
How are you? How have you been this past two week of freeze, thaw, monsoon and freeze? Once again, I couldn’t write last week. While it may have been a relief for you, I felt quite bad. Our dearly beloved customers should always come first. My role at GF has taken me away from the shop since my dear old Dad died so, note to self, I need to plan better. This-time-last-week’s preoccupation was having to remove some people who had been using one of our barns, unconnected to Grange Farm, for purposes other than which had said they would – what a tongue twister. Their exit was happily a calm and ordered procedure though nevertheless draining.
So, as the weather crisps again, it’s the advent of Advent…Can you believe it? The lights in Woodbridge are on, the shop is being decorated, have we seen the M&S advert? (do we need to?) our no-needle-drop Christmas Trees are outside the shop and our gorgeous wreathes.
And to mark the countdown EJaRT have their Festive Market on Sunday 1st and the Barn Café is open especially – during the tasting sessions we’ve been trying not to eat all the cheese straws and mince pies Becky and Chloë have baked.
Our Christmas orders are coming in thick and fast. Cut off is midnight Saturday 7th. To order online click CHRISTMAS ORDER FORM or pick up a hard copy in the shop.
Meantime, amongst the things to spot and try are, in the shop, some superb organic winter veg that have put a spring in Marlene’s step, and, in the café, delectable truffles which like the cake selection are tantalizingly intriguing. I hope you don’t find me round a corner face and hands smeared in crumbs and chocolate.
And so from four year olds and cake to fish: Mike has a wonderful spread and arriving tomorrow Couch’s Bream from Cornwall a real rarity only ever caught by small boats. These bream have fabulous colour and a taste that other bream can’t reach. Mike was so excited he bought the whole catch. So with no further ado, here is your advent of Advent fishy adventure this week:

Masses of pre-festive love,
Will and Team GF
